Shot For Shot: The Lexington Club on Film

January 25 only

HowtoPickUpGirls Q&A and discussion with filmmakers after the screening.

Screening will be followed by an after party at the Lexington Club!

Co-presented by Good Vibrations, Frameline and the Lexington Club.

Elena Oxman, a local filmmaker and teacher, is organizing a screening of local films that have been shot at or featured the Lexington Club, which has announced it will be closing in 2015.  The bar and its owner Lila Thirkield have let local/queer filmmakers use it as a location over the years, and the resulting films have run the gamut from student shorts to features like Valencia– all of which showcase local talent and capture some sense of the “old” San Francisco.

The program will include scenes from films shot at the bar (listed below)

Ashley 22 (Monica Nolan, 1998)
How to Pick up Girls (Jackie Strano, Shar Rednour, 2000)
By Hook or By Crook (Silas Howard, Harriet Dodge 2001)

Mechanic’s Daydream (Mary Guzmán, 2007)
