SF IndieFest: SHOOT THE MOON BETWEEN THE EYES
First show: February 07
Directly inspired by the work of James Joyce and John Prine, this shambling Texas musical follows two genial silver foxes, Jerry and Carl, as they con women out of–well, not fortunes exactly. When one of them falls in love with a mark, it might be the end of the honky-tonk road. Meanwhile, a clumsy private investigator is hunting these over-the-hill charmers for his own nefarious purposes.
A heist movie set to country western songs (performed by the cast, as part of the story), this low-budget romp has a noticeable gleam in its eye.
Directed by Graham Carter. USA. 75 min.
PLAYS WITH THE PHANTOM 52!
Tom Skerritt stars in this animated short film about a lonely trucker waiting for a reply on the CB radio…a ghost that haunts the lonely highways…and a whale that sings in a voice no other whale can even hear.
Directed by Geoff Marslett. US. 7 min. Digital.
