Come see Midnight Crusaders, a film brought to life entirely by driven high school students from around the Bay Area and their startup production company, Ever Upward Pictures.

Followed by a Q&A with the cast and crew of Midnight Crusaders!

Midnight Crusaders, written and directed by 18-year-old Michael Lopez, produced by Sophia Aeby and Director of Photography by Phil Elleston, II., follows a group of teenagers who set out to find a missing girl for a cash reward. As they begin their journey and learn about the girl’s dark past and reasons for running away, they find themselves entangled in a series of moral dilemmas. Featuring original musical tracks (by Andrew Chanover), beautiful cinematography, and the parts of San Francisco not always shown on screen, Midnight Crusaders presents the conflict between teenage imagination and the inescapable reality of growing up.

From the first draft of the screenplay to the final edits, the cast and crew overcame challenges and spent their weekends, summers and many long nights to bring Midnight Crusaders to life. Along the way, the youth filmmakers gathered support from director Joe Talbot, local grip and electric company Little Giant, and community organization BAYCAT.

The evening will feature two short films, also created entirely by local youth: Cody’s World, directed by 17-year-old Bryce Myrah, and Nyte Tyme, directed by Michael Lopez and produced by Bryce Myrah. Come support young actors and filmmakers for this one-night-only film event!

Directed by Michael Lopez, 2019. Total Runtime 59 mins.

Roxie Theater trailers play during the 30 minutes prior to showtime.
