Bruna Bloch is a successful yet unscrupulous writer. Although she is praised for her work and her book is on the bestsellers list, she fears that she might run out of creativity. Bart Bava, Bruna's former boyfriend, is a neurobiologist who develops a creativity inducing brain chip called Melpomene (the Greek muse of tragedy), but the federal medicine council forbids him to do conduce his experiments on humans. He disobeys and accidentally kills his wife. Without a job and with no credibility, he accepts an offer from Bruna to continue his research. However, before installing the Melpomene, Bruna also hires a human guinea pig, Cristi, a naive country girl who left home and hit the big town with dreams of becoming a famous music star. Once the Melpomene is installed, Cristi suffers a few side effects: she can't sleep, eat, smell ... nor can she die. Although she can write with unparalleled creativity, Bruna has different plans for Cristi and Bart. A blood fable unfolds and eternal life becomes a burden too heavy to hold.
