Keep the Promise: The Global Fight Against AIDS
AIDS Healthcare Foundation & The HIV Story Project present a very special World AIDS Day Event -- The Bay Area premiere of the new documentary “Keep The Promise: The Global Fight Against AIDS,” plus live performances by Oakland-based spoken word artist Roxanne Hanna-Ware and gospel choir The Messengers Of Hope, singing about the fight to end the HIV/AIDS pandemic. Q&A with filmmakers & artists after the show.
Narrated by Margaret Cho, “Keep The Promise: The Global Fight Against AIDS” (Directors: Jörg Fockele & Marc Smolowitz - USA - 44 minutes) is a music/protest documentary that profiles advocates from around the world as they gather in Washington, DC in 2012 to protest global AIDS policy on the eve of the 19th International AIDS Conference. Including celebrity appearances by Dr. Cornel West, Tavis Smiley, Reverend Al Sharpton, and Archbishop Desmond Tutu. Featuring music performances by Wyclef Jean.
