A SPECIAL PRE-OPENING NIGHT SHINDIG!

To help celebrate the arrival of The Roxie's first festival of FILM NOIR in nearly ten years, a special evening of music, merriment and, oh yes, film noir has been planned! The doors of San Francisco's original House of Noir will swing open at 7:00 pm and attendees will be graced with refreshments and live music by The Rich Andrews Trio - a sterling ensemble of local jazz wizards who will dazzle the crowd with their own personal blend of old school and new school sounds. This will be followed at 8:00 by a RARE screening of the 1961 British noir film ALL NIGHT LONG. This darkly penetrating film is a modern retelling of Shakespeare's OTHELLO, set in the freewheeling underworld of London's swinging jazz scene. The film stars Patrick McGoohan, Keith Michell, Betsy Blair, Richard Attenborough and features on-screen performances by Dave Brubeck, Charles Mingus, Johnny Dankworth and many other great jazz musicians. Directed by Basil Dearden. 85 mins. Showtime: 8:00pm.
