MIAMI CONNECTION
There's a magical time for teenage boys when they hang out all the time in one big group. It's not like they're afraid of girls, but for now it's dudes enjoying the company of other dudes. That's how the main characters in Miami Connection are. They do everything, from practicing martial arts to playing in a band to attending high school, together. A violent grudge emerges between the band – whose name is Dragon Sound – and a gang of street toughs. It's worth mentioning that all the teenagers in this movie are played by folks (“actors” might be a little charitable) pushing forty. As Lars Nilsson puts it, ”There's a lot of talk about (and even a song) about ninjas, but it remains to be seen if any ninjas were actually persuaded to appear...after all, it's not ninjas themselves that excite us, it's the anticipation that ninjas might appear.” Dirs.: Woo-Sang Park & Y.K. NINJA TURF
Let's be honest: there really aren't any ninjas in Ninja Turf. According to the trailer, Ninja Turf has “A killer's paradise, rip-offs, a double cross that boomerangs, $800,000 in stolen money”. Later on in the preview, it promises this movie will kick you in the face. That is not incorrect.
