FRESHFLIX FILM FESTIVAL

Started on the spectacular beach of Freshwater Beach, Australia, the Freshflix Film Festival showcases independent cinema from the brightest up-and-coming international talents, including Finland, Russia and the UK.

Join us for the INAUGURAL event in San Francisco hosted at Roxie Cinema June 29th. We will be showing the the best 14 shorts of Freshwater Film Festival that have screened all over Australia.


Big City

Vijay, a lonely taxi driver who recently moved to Melbourne, picks up a stray drunk, Chris. Vijay’s distrust is slowly broken down as Chris befriends him. Over the course of the night Chris experiences some of Vijay’s nightly troubles, and Vijay learns to see the city in a new light.


Journey

Alone in space, an astronaut drifts through the empty void. After finding another astronaut in the same predicament, she gives him a polaroid image of the Earth. They then team up to go on an epic journey across the universe to return to their planet. Will these star-crossed lovers find home?


Slingshot

An amusing analogy on modern love through the eyes of one of its latest victims.


Chinese Treachery

A Chinese exam veers off-syllabus when Jenkins discovers George’s extra curricular activities…


Plover

It is 1977 in the suburbs. A time when cool t-shirts ruled and jumping on Angie Primarano’s trampoline was the only thing on Henry Arthur Henry’s mind. A lone Plover stands in the way of Henry Arthur Henry’s dreams and hopes.


Venice

Josh is in Venice, Mum is in Sydney. Josh doesn’t understand backpacking, Mum doesn’t understand Skype.


Man and Trees

Based on a one minute short tale by Hungarian folk writer Gaspar Heltai. A story of a man who goes out into the forest to ask for a stick, which turns into a story about true nature of manhood.
