Communal Presence: A Film Program in Conjunction with New Narrative Conference

SHOWTIMES / BUY TICKETS
October 15 only

Join us for a free matinee screening of five films at the intersection of New Narrative writing and experimental cinema!

Half of the program is dedicated to the influence of George Kuchar, as seen in Curt McDowell’s Confessions, two of Cecilia Dougherty’s portrait films Kevin and Cedar and Eileen, and Abigail Child’s SWAMP. The second half of our program will feature Marc Huestis’s raucous Whatever Happened to Susan Jane?, with a brief Q&A with the filmmaker following the screening.

This program is free and has been organized as part of Communal Presence: New Narrative Writing Today. Communal Presence is a celebration of and inquiry into New Narrative, the incredible literary movement that emerged in San Francisco from an admixture of gay liberation, Marxist theory, punk, and 1970s feminism.

To reserve a seat, please register for the conference at https://communalpresence.com/registration/.

Seating is limited for this one-time-only event.
